TRACS srl was created in 1997 in Rome. It provides expertise, know-how and innovative solutions in ICT-related systems and applications, including R&D of HW/SW components for Industrial Automation, Tourism and Environment sector clients, web-based applications and networking platforms, wireless-based sub-systems, advanced statistical algorithms, and multimedia communications solutions. It is a privately-owned R&D Centre: the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) has granted TRACS the status of a MUR recognised Research Laboratory, according to Ministry-controlled procedures1. TRACS is based in Naples and Palermo areas.
TRACS has implemented a QMS, in accordance with UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 standards2 . Since 2005, TRACS has filed a few patents, in the fields of Transport and Telecommunications3 . Since 2000, TRACS developed its expertise, in close cooperation with research institutions located in the Rome and Naples areas, in the Friuli Venezia-Giulia and Basilicata regions.

In the Tourism (including underwater archeology) and Transport-related sectors, TRACS has developed solutions in cultural and nautical tourism, info mobility, underwater tours, such as: Agency Tour (Integrated Offering for Tour Operators), ASAD (Access to hotels for Disabled), I-CARE (Support to e-government via Digital TV), IO IMPARO (E-Learning Platform, I-Vote (Televoting by digital TV), Signalling (Applications in Railways), etc.
TRACS has been a Partner and/or subcontractor in various Research Projects, e.g.: TOPFOOD Project: Promoting Excellence Through Traditional Food Products (EU project); TELL ME Project: UMTS- Based InTELLigent support services in tourisM and leisure (EU project); MMS Project: Marina Management System, in collaboration with local marinas; TELEMACO: Multi-channel Transport Infomobility System, in collaboration with the Palermo Public Bus Company and the University of Palermo; TRITONE: Underwater Archaeology Solutions, carried out in collaboration with the Naples Monument Authority, the University of Naples and the Ministry of the Environment (being developed).
