KMOP is a leading Greek NGO that since the late 1970s has undertaken numerous projects and programmes focusing on issues pertaining to social welfare and health. A particular focus is the family: young and old. Targeting vulnerable groups, it also works to promote the inclusion of socially excluded people in local communities. Other areas of expertise include equal opportunities, education and training, mental health, employability and entrepreneurship. KMOP has considerable experience in the area of aging and the elderly. One of the organisation's earliest projects was the design and operation of the first centres of open care for the elderly in four locations of Attiki in central Greece, established in cooperation with the Greek Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. KMOP has also conducted research in the area of social inclusion and ageing.
